Do you want to blog a write the right way?
Wait a sec; that bit of New Grammar shouldn’t have gotten by my eagle eye. Let me rephrase the question:
Do you want to write a blog correctly the first time?
No, wait, it’s still not quite there….
I GOTS IT!
<ahem>
Do you want to write correctly a blog….the first time?
Well? Do you? But immediately after that [Read more]

Today’s burning question of the day! Have you ever been slapped upside the headed?
No, wait, nix that burning question and let’s dash straight into today’s immolating question! Wheeee! Have you ever had to interact with people whose ability to create unique, fascinating words confounded you so much, you simply stood back, gawked and muttered to yourself, ummmm, English, it’s a Good Concept?
In other words, how often how do you deal with people whose ability to communicate is….
ahem, hmmmm, riffled
….with more confusion than a parent trying to teach his or her elderly parent that "Strike Any Key When Ready" DOESN’T mean you have to take apart the keyboard to uncover that mystery option?
Do you leave blogs written in the same way? Even worse…is the above something that infests YOUR OWN blog as well?
I was gently reminded of this with the force of a [Read more]

It never fails to astound me! I can draw parallels regarding blogging to just about any event that happens to me!
Take yesterday….at adult karate sparring. Now, I adore sparring - there’s something about gearing up with a chest protector, helmet, hand/foot pads, etc., and taking one person after person; after 8 hours of typing in front of a computer, it’s a great stress relaxer!
So there I was; ’twas my second day back from my insane work pace of the last 4 weeks. Over the weekend, mind you, I had invested in awesomely magnificent new headgear (that actually allowed me to use my peripheral vision! What a concept to actually SEE [Read more]

Blogging ideas can come from the most unique sources online!
There I was, waiting for the beginning of a performance of excited 6 year olds. Now, if you’re not familiar with this particular breed of exotic human beans, 6 year olds have the uncanny ability to make their whispers register an 8.9 on the Richter Scale. And one of the comments from the adults, I believe, was "if you even DARE to make a peep before the show starts, you shall regret it!"
Instant silence ensued…..for at least 17 seconds. That was a record, I think.
But it reminded me [Read more]

Yesterday I had the profound pleasure of reading DailyBlogTips’ Check how Search Engines see your website. A long-time SEO enthusiast, I used to focus upon this concept years and years ago (anyone remember when Infoseek would index your site in real time back in 1996?).
The years passed and writing SEO-optimized content became second nature to me. And over the past few months at my FabFitMom Journal (I lost 45 pounds during 2007 and wrote quite a lot of content; it’s now retired and I post my personal insights over at BarbaraLing.com), I found that I could easily get into the first page of SERPs (search engine results) for just about any keyword I wanted that was related to my niche.
Well! With that as an intro, let me dive into the DailyBlogTips article. They refer to [Read more]

As a blogger, you almost certainly follow other bloggers via a feed reader such as:
And that’s all very well and good - feed readers make it super-easy to see what’s going on out on the big blue marble!
But! Did you know that feed readers can be used for far more than [Read more]

If you blog about women’s issues or kids’ issues or model horse issues or anorexic issues or … (you gets the ideas I hopes?)… you’re a gentle innocent if you don’t pounce upon (and blog about) this latest horrendous attempt at sexualizing our single-digit girls:
Strutz, the fashion model whorses!
Good Lord, abysmal, icky and rather disgusting doesn’t BEGIN to describe this!!
I first heard about this from [Read more]

Joshua Clanton wrote a rather insightful post over at DailyBlogTips, entitled "Become a Blogging Wizard - 6 Lessons from Harry Potter". It inspired me to comment and also reminded me of the following profound poem that I first read back in 1986…22 years ago.
Life is a four letter word……..
I think you spell it L-O-V-E
It’s really as simple as that……
No, I don’t really think that I can totally describe love
but I do know some things about it.

Have you ever been feverishly scouting about on Google or other search engines, find the one utterly tremendous resource for your blogging needs, clicked on it…only to discover (gasp!) that page no longer exists?
Oh, the a-go-ninny! More irritating than witnessing your computer embrace the Blue Screen of Death after a power hit (okay, that might be a wee bit of an exaggeration), generally users will say, oh drat, I must find another resource to assist me in my quest.
But…..perhaps that’s not necessary! Perhaps….you can ressurect that dead webpage and glimpse into the data that no longer exists at the site! Perhaps…you can Actually Gain a Benefit from the Prior 8 Hours of Research!
