Ban Holiday Stress!Morning all,

Today is Easter and Purim!

And you know what that means:

Family!

At the holidays!

In other words, possible (dare I breathe it)

STRESS!

Oh, just THINK on the ecstatic joys of spending 18 hours cooking the Easter dinner! or the Purim feast! only to encounter family members with children who could double as surly Minotaurs, relatives whose idea of helping out is NOT stepping on the dropped salad flung their by their darling children, people whose idea of Live and Let Live ends when [Read more]

RANT - What Twitter REALLY is missing Part 2 - images!

Deliver images with style and grace

Yesterday I wrote my first Twitter rant over here.

It’s time for my second Twitter rant.  I’m sure you’ll agree with the fact there’s

No way to share images.

is utterly maddening!  Oh sure, I can send a tinyURL to an image, what about dragging and dropping the image to my Twitter box and having it sent to specific people?

What’s wrong with adding that most-likely-short bit of code to simplify my life?   Unless I want to hire someone to take a picture of the image and then send it over to [Read more]

Amicably pummel your children - they’ll thank you for compelling them to face their fears

Fight past your fearQuick!  Imagine….Soul-devouring FEAR

Pretty scary, right?  Now imagine something even worse….

Your child experiencing that same body-freezing paralyzing fear.

Utterly horrible, don’t you think?  Entirely unimaginable; any parent would choose storm the gates of bloody Hell rather than let their child get hurt.  But the sad reality is, life - it happens.  There’s a high probability that [Read more]

Make Them Beg To Digg You - 5 Killer Tips To Commanding Creative Diggs

Enflame your network via DiggDo you inflame your network?

Eliot Spitzer’s rep wasn’t built in a day, but his monetary value increased over a 1 million in less than 24 hours.  Talk about an exponential growth!!

Over here in the Internet, it’s social networking that creates such an inferno.  I was reminded of this when I read [Read more]

RANT - What Twitter REALLY is missing Part 1, need a solution

140 character limit in Twitter

You know, I’ve been educating myself quite a lot about Twitter lately, and I can really see the benefits to it.

But the more I analyze it, the more I realize…it’s missing some key critical features.  And for my Friday Musings, I’ve decided to start listing them, one by one.

Let’s start with:

No way to communicate in MORE than 140 characters.

Sure, I know, the basis for Twitter IS 140 characters or less, but c’mon!  If someone [Read more]

Viva the Easter Broccoli Bunny! Gaining the Edge and Managing your blog audience’s expectations - Day 4 of 5

Easter Broccoli Bunny! Are you sitting down?  You should be to ensure you don’t fall off your chair after visualizing the following:

You promise me now you’re sitting, right?  I don’t have to worry about hearing large <THUMPS>?

Alright then….tell me.  Picture the following.

SpongeBob SquarePants battling the Cloverfield Monster.

Okay now!  Is that image firmly lodged within your cranium?

Is it crowding out visions of freshly-perked coffee and the spine-tingling joy of a neat laundry room (complete with nary a single sock in sight)?

Excellent.  Now tell me….what on earth could such an image convey?  You’ve all heard, a picture is worth a thousand words….what would cute yellow SpongeBob up against mean scary Cloverfields make people think?

Hang on, wait a sec, what’s that you just thought?

How to Recession-proof your blog and business today - Secrets revealed!

Recession Proof your blog and business todayMoney…it’s good.

I like money.  Don’t you?  Money enables me to keep my kids in slide rulers, my parakeets in Macaw-sized Nutriberries, my coffee maker always perking (although I will admit, it doesn’t do a darn for keeping kids sock pairs intact….).  But I digress. :)

Recession….it’s bad.

I don’t like a recession.  Recessions mean less money will be spent, which might mean less slide rulers can be bought or my parakeets will have to endure agony of plain old birdieSeed or my coffee maker will [Read more]

Easy way to let people Twitter your blog posts - TinyURL plugin usable for tweets!

Automatically display the tinyURL you can use in Twitter for your blog posts! If you’ve been online for more than, hmmmm, 17 seconds or so, you’ve probably heard about Twitter - the nifty site that lets you communicate in chunks shorter than 140 characters.

If so, you’ve probably noticed that people use the TinyURL function to easily let their friends know about super neat blog posts, websites, etc.

After witnessing this sharing about 817 times, I said to myself:

Gee self, it would be quite spiffy if I could proactively give my readers the TinyURL itself…and then encourage them to tweet it on Twitter!

And thus was born my quest that resulted in every one of my blog posts being prefaced by:

NOTE! If you enjoy this post, please feel free to twitter it with the tinylink (fill in tinyURL here). Thanks, I appreciate it!

Here’s how I did it and how you can do it too.
