Nothing else on this planet gives new meaning to soul-searing torture than watching said 7 year old hyperactive male beings trying to defy gravity, mutate into alien life forms, or otherwise compel parents to [Read more]

Yesterday was my second class of Brazilian Jui-jitsu!
Now, if you’re not familiar with this awesome sport of kings, macho dudes and all-powerful mother units, let me explain a bit about it - basically you grapple with your opponent and try to pin/immobilize/win the bout.
Doesn’t that sound simply heavenly? I mean, think about it - after hours and hours of typing at your keyboard and watching your children fling their cheerios heavenwards in order to test out if removing them from the box FIRST makes them fall faster….what else [Read more]

Do you really know what’s reality and what’s not?
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. The future of marketing interactions will be increasingly focused upon mobile devices such as your phone, your PDA and similar beasties. After all, consider the following.
Most likely, your phone is always with you. Therefore, determining its location (via GPS) during particular times of the day is an excellent method of forecasting where you’ll be in the future (if you’re a creature of habit, as many people are).
What does this mean for marketers? Well, lessee….telemarketers would have a more accurate picture of when you’ll actually be at home. And this concept can be extended even further - let’s say that you’re a coffee marketer and know the approximate time of day when your phone (and hence, you) are in a Starbucks. Or a Dunkin Donuts. Or … you get the idea, right? The huge data available from Google Earth and other satellite mapping outlets would make figuring out [Read more]

It never fails to astound me! I can draw parallels regarding blogging to just about any event that happens to me!
Take yesterday….at adult karate sparring. Now, I adore sparring - there’s something about gearing up with a chest protector, helmet, hand/foot pads, etc., and taking one person after person; after 8 hours of typing in front of a computer, it’s a great stress relaxer!
So there I was; ’twas my second day back from my insane work pace of the last 4 weeks. Over the weekend, mind you, I had invested in awesomely magnificent new headgear (that actually allowed me to use my peripheral vision! What a concept to actually SEE [Read more]
