‘Tis a sad, lamentable fact indeed, but there DO exist folks out there who will take your content and brutally slash off your credentials, claiming your work as their’s, and profiting from your blood, sweat and tears. It reminds me of Tom Lehrer’s Lobachevsky:

If there’s one thing I despise in life, it’s the heathen scum that infest the Internet and tries to send spambots to my comments area.
But if there’s one thing I truly DETEST in life, it’s said heathen scum bonking at my Wordpress login page and making bogus registrations. They’re about as welcome and appetizing as a dish of cockroaches appearing at a formal dining event hosted by the International Society of Protocol and Etiquette Professionals, wouldn’t you agree?
‘Course you’d agree! You’re a smart online professional, right? Your time is valuable and your site is your own special abode on the Internet…you don’t want it to become a hangout for utter loser spam bots waiting to flood your thousands of posts with their own particular brand of ickyness.
Now, if you don’t allow people to register in the first place, you’re home free! But what about those situations in which you want to make certain registration is available?
