Monetizing your blog via Amazon tricks your mother never told you about - Part 1

Have you ever wanted to make money with your blog via the Amazon affiliate program?
let me guess - right now you’re thinking, well golly Barbara, heck no! I hate making money! I just like the pretty images I can put up!
Are you aware you can go far beyond the typical widgets/stores/thingees Amazon.com offers its affiliates…if you only just apply a little bit of creative MacGyverism?
It’s true! The following is a technique I have not seen elsewhere - it’s something I came upon long long ago when I was teaching affiliates how to be in the right place at the right time with the right market….before the rest of the thundering herd comes careening down the path.
Visit Amazon.com. Let’s say that your blog focuses on, hmmm, oh, gee, I don’t know….iPhones. It’s a lovely niche, tons of people worship their little bit of AppleGlory! So! In the spirit of adventuring, search for
Now! You’ll see you have various choices to narrow your search, including Electronics, Wireless…..but don’t go there yet! No no no, instead, click on
and then sort it by
You’ll see:
iPhone and iPod Touch Hacks: Tips and Tools for Pushing the Smartest Mobile Devices to their Limits (Hacks)

Notice the publication date. It’s Jun 15, 2008. How many people do you think are blogging about it now, 3 months before it is released?
Hmmm?
But! Your customers can pre-order it! And you’d end up getting the affiliate commissions.
Not only that, but I’d bet you’d be the first one around the block to blog about it.
Blogging about it would be easy! Simply search for current iPhone tips and tricks, write up a useful review on the sites uncovered, and close (or even open!) with your "latest find" - that of the book that will be published in June of 2008. Here’s some forums I uncovered when I searched:
You don’t have to stop there! You could visit eBay’s listing of Iphone Hacks by Adam Stolarz, Damien Stolarz, William Hurley (2008), and click on Be the first to review it!
‘Course, I’d recommend that you actually read it first. :) This can be accomplished by contacting the publisher and asking for a review copy.
