Profitable Niche blogging - Make money with Robotics

Robotics BloggingMorning!  So you’ve heard about blogging and by the sheerest of coincidences, you are addicted to robotics as well.  Right now, you’re probably saying to yourself,

Gosh self!  How can I marry my two passions, Robotics and Blogging, and make money from them as well?

What an entirely superb question!  It’s really easy to do….and here’s how.

Step 1.)  Set up a domain name and put a blog on it.

Sure, you can use something like robotics.blogspot.com, but why be so, well, wimpy?  Consider these domain names:

Want cost-conscious domain resources?  Check out:

Once you have a domain name, you need to get some products to market.  Move onto:

Step 2.)  Get an Amazon and eBay affiliate ID.

This is critical, because these two programs will deliver the majority of your commissions.

Sign up HERE for Amazon.com and HERE for eBay.

There are TONS of robotics goodies you can find on eBay and Amazon, including general robotics, Lego Mindstorms, and the like.  You really want to focus on these as they deliver rather decent affiliate commissions - here’s what some would look like.

MINDSTORMS 9719 RCX 1.0 MOTORS SENSORS CD BOOK AND MORE

MINDSTORM Antonio Sabato Jr., Eric Roberts NEW DVD

Building Robots with Lego Mindstorms book How-to Guide

LEGO ~ LOT OF 50 Assorted Misc Pieces some Mindstorm A5

Step 3.)  Set up your Robotics Blog

There are three must-do things you have to follow:

  • Incorporate anti-spam plugins (learn more here)
  • Set up categories
    • I’d recommend to start off simple, like:
      • Robotics News
      • Robotics Research
      • Mindstorms
  • Add affiliate programs to blog template.  Both Amazon and eBay give you tips on how to do this.  I generally will add them both to my individual postings and the sidebars.

Kids often get their first introduction to Robotics via Lego Mindstorms….so a Mindstorms category is key.

Next, you need some content about which to write.  Move to:

Step 4.)  Uncover Robotics Feeds.

Go to Google Alerts and set up a comprehensive alert for

  • robotics

This will ensure you’ll be kept aware of blog postings regarding robotics, news about robotics, etc.

Then go to Google and search for

You’ll uncover feeds from sites like:

Add the feeds you’d like to your Feedreader.

Next, search for

This will deliver to your blogs that focus on robotics, such as:

Continue adding feeds until you have about 20 of them; that’s enough to provide you with a continuous stream of inspiration.

Step 5.)  Post!

Now you can start posting to your Robotics blog.  Start off with current news, technology, school happenings and research…and then move into product review resources, Mindstorms tips, etc.  Then you can start to review video clips from Youtube like these robotic ones here.

With patience and persistence, you should see your affiliate income grow as your blog becomes known in the robotics industry.

And you don’t have to stop there - you can include affiliate links from robotics sites like

as well.

Hope the above is helpful!

ThankYouVeryMuch,

Owlbert
