Sexuality, 5 year olds and controversy - Would you stoop this low?

Whorse If you blog about women’s issues or kids’ issues or model horse issues or anorexic issues or … (you gets the ideas I hopes?)… you’re a gentle innocent if you don’t pounce upon (and blog about) this latest horrendous attempt at sexualizing our single-digit girls:

Strutz, the fashion model whorses!

Good Lord, abysmal, icky and rather disgusting doesn’t BEGIN to describe this!!

I first heard about this from Jezebel, to wit:

Can you believe this???? In this day and age, people are STILL trying to get our girl children to view over-sexualization with something, ahem, desirable?

Horses…wearing high-heeled shoes, a foo-foo (or whatever the heck those frilly thingees are), and let’s not forget, a huuuuge, ahem, bust? On a horse?

Whatever, I ask you, ever happened to good ‘ole Breyer Model horses?

Sigh. How utterly depressing. Let’s now apply it to your own blogs and websites!

If you are utterly desperate for new content and to break new ground, focus on sexuality in a controversial setting! It’s a guaranteed sure-sell! And even better, focus on issues like, oh gee, I don’t know, Looks! and Fashion! and Shallowness! and and and Breasty Whorses!

Sheesh.

The fact is, though, controversy does sell. It causes people to visit your site, rant about your opinions, visit other sites, rant about your opinions on those sites as well, etc. Like the old adage says, any publicity is good publicity! For example, check out:

Still, though, I really draw the line (as in, etch it into granite and concrete 10 feet deep) when it comes to the Bratz and Whorses and whole-teeny-bopper-adultness and thingees like that. The creators of such reprehensible "toys" should truly be ashamed of themselves.
