Soaring on broken wings - views of Twitter Budgie courage

If you’ve been following my adventures online for any length of time, you’re probably aware of my April Fools’ site, TwitterBudgie.
But did you know those 15 parakeets really DO live in my office…and really do have unique and fascinating personalities you’d never imagine a tiny birdie could possess?
Take Avenahar, for example. Avenahar’s story is very sad yet very inspiring as well. I got him from a pet shop (I was given him, actually) last year and immediately noticed something really really really REALLY weird:
Avenahar cannot flap his wings. ‘Matter of fact, to the best of my knowledge, they’re broken.
And Avenahar HATES people. Scared, petrified, abhors….he will panic if anyone gets close to him and (get this) fling himself off the top of the cage (I never cage my parakeets) and land SMACK! on the floor, 3 feet below. Generally, I might add, on his back.
Needless to say, my entire family has been strictly warned about frightening him and for the most part, he lives his budgie life with the other 14 parakeets.
But get this! His mate is Glyphie, the lead hen.
Glyphie is the undisputed leader of the Ling Flock. She is the most adventurous of my birdies, and the one to whom all the other female budgies defer.
Now, I want you to think about this for a second. Here we have a broken-winged budgie who cannot fly and follow his mate, nor can enjoy disappearing to the fake trees I have about my office. But! Even with this tremendous handicap, he manage to win the devotion of the top female budgie of the flock.
That’s character with a capital C!
Avenahar can still soar with the eagles, even though he has useless, broken wings.
With that, I now arrive at the main point of my post:
Can you say the same?
Even against insurmountable odds, do YOU think, Hey! This is life! These are the cards that I’ve been dealt…and I had better play them to the best of my freakin’ abilitiy come hell or high water?
Or do you instead say to yourself, oh gee, why even bother….I’ll never attain my goal anyway?
Well?
Well, I’ve got a suggestion for you! If my broken-winged parakeet can take on the world in his own little-birdie way, there’s ZERO reason why you cannot do the same.
Really!
It’s all a matter of believing in yourself…for when you passionately give yourself permission to succeed, nothing but nothing can possibly stop you.
Take it from Avenahar. And Glyphie.
ThankYouVeryMuch!
